Why Was Direct Healthcare International Founded And What Drives Its Remarkable Impact on Thousands?

Traditional government-run National Health Systems typically operate as centrally managed healthcare entities, often organized into 'centres of excellence' or cost centres for stringent financial oversight. Analytical and exploratory departments are frequently decentralized into separate units, some of which are operated by private non-government organizations. Examples include scan centres, ultrasound facilities, X-ray, CT, PET, MRI, labs, and radiological screening. Consequently, patients undergoing investigations often find themselves shuttling between different appointments, spread across various centres or hospitals, with results sometimes taking days, weeks, or even months to reach them.   The whole system is setup and run for the convenance of the government and governing body, the patients concerns and welfare come last.

In essence, the entire system is fragmented, akin to a scenario where an investigating doctor is tasked with completing a 500-piece puzzle to understand the full medical picture but is initially handed only 150 pieces. Subsequently, as the patient undergoes additional scans or tests over time, the investigating doctor receives partial information, losing and gaining puzzle pieces with each visit.

Direct Healthcare International has achieved success by adopting a fundamentally different approach. We collaborate with centres of excellence housing some of the world's most skilled surgeons. These facilities boast comprehensive, in-house resources, eliminating the need to refer patients elsewhere for scans and tests. Upon entering one of our partner facilities, patients undergo all necessary tests promptly. Results, including those from scans, are swiftly communicated to the investigating medical professionals, often within 20 or 30 minutes. Radiologists promptly interpret X-rays or scans and provide reports, enabling the investigating surgeon to gain a holistic understanding of the patient's condition immediately.

This streamlined system has a positive impact not only on patient care but also on the working environment of medical professionals. Our doctors are content, engaged, and able to perform at their best. They derive satisfaction from encountering unique cases and take pride in resolving uncommon complaints.

Direct Healthcare International has a track record of successfully addressing cases where others have faltered. We have effectively treated over 2,000 such cases, showcasing our commitment to delivering exceptional and timely healthcare solutions.

Hospital rooms are equipped with 2/4 beds

Belgian hospitals are designed from the ground up to minimise hospital transmitted infections such as MRSA.

Belgium, recognizing the threat posed by infections like Covid, and adopted a policy mandating 2-bed rooms; facilitating immediate isolation of infected patients when necessary.  Over the last 15 years, hospitals have steadily reduced the number of beds per room from 4 to 2.

This proactive approach to infection control is evident in all our partner hospitals, many of which have been purposefully constructed or renovated with this priority in mind.

MRSA and hospital transmitted infections are among the lowest in Europe

Each hospital is overseen by a dedicated infection control doctor, ensuring impeccable hygiene standards, floors and surfaces are kept spotless.

DHI introduced rigorous protocols, including testing patients for MRSA upon arrival and departure, an innovation pioneered by Direct Healthcare International that are now foundational practices in hospitals worldwide.

Our commitment to infection control has yielded impressive results, with MRSA and other hospital-transmitted infections among the lowest in Europe. It should be noted that at 0.5% - 0.3% secondary infection rates in Belgium are virtually the lowest in the world.

At DHI, we're more than just a healthcare service.
We're your partners in a journey towards a healthier, brighter furture.
